For the past year, I’ve been repeatedly asked: Which workout should I buy, P90X vs Insanity Workout? I’ve personally done both, so let me go ahead and share my point of view.
It all boils right down to what your goals are and what sort of workout you prefer. I mean since your asking yourself this question, it leads me to believe that you’re probably already in decent shape and just need something more challenging.
Neither of those programs is for beginners and they’re considered among the foremost intense workouts out within the market. I personally have been working out for almost two years now, and I think that I’m in pretty good shape! I’ve done weight lifting, HIIT training, and a number of other different sports over the course of my life. But EVERY TIME I move through a P90X or an Insanity Workout, I FEEL IT BIG TIME! No matter how many times I’ve done it, I always feel challenged and I’m not sure I’ll ever manage to out do any of these programs.
So, I’m going to get into the meat now and let you know what I think are the biggest differences between these two programs. With P90X, you receive a pleasant balance between cardio workouts, and weight lifting workouts, along with some yoga and stretching DVD’s. With Insanity, all you get is cardio. So Insanity is ideal for weight loss. If you are looking to lose a lot of weight, I would go with Insanity. But if you wish to develop some power and strength, then P90X is probably your best option.
